BOSTON, June 2, 2025 – A New Hampshire man was sentenced today to up to 34 years in state prison after being convicted last month on three separate rapes occurring between April and June of 2023, Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden announced.
MAXWELL NEWMAN, 25, of Newton, NH was convicted by a Suffolk County jury on May 16 of four counts of rape, three counts of assault and battery, two counts of assault to rape, and one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Judge Debra Squires-Lee imposed a sentence of 28 to 34 years in state prison followed by five years of probation, noting Newman’s “repeated acts of violence, deliberate targeting of vulnerable women and degrading treatment” of the victims.
