KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) is investigating after a Kansas City, Kansas police officer fired their weapon, hitting a suspect in a domestic call dispute.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. Monday, June 2, in the 200 block of N. 78 Street, south of the Kansas Speedway.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said Monday the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Timothy Cella, made verbal threats to officers. The KBI said KCKPD officers believed Cella pointed a gun at them. Around 3:45 a.m., officers saw Cella raising “what was believed to be a firearm at officers,” the KBI said, leading six officers to fire shots.
