Paradise Valley Police Chief Freeman Carney knows his way around a hiking trail.

His hiking conquests include reaching the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the world’s highest free-standing mountain above sea level at 19,340 feet.

Not to be outdone, he plans to conquer the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu in Peru this summer.
