OAK FOREST, Ill. (WGN) — Two Chicago men now face first-degree murder charges in connection with the death of a man in Oak Forest last month.
Authorities say 30-year-old Michael Protho and 32-year-old Rashee Wyrick are linked to the May 23 homicide of 54-year-old Edward Lewis of Elburn.
First responders called to a home in the 15500 block of Long Avenue around noon on Friday, May 23. There, emergency crews located Lewis' unresponsive body.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved one felony count of first-degree murder against Protho on Monday, May 26.
Law enforcement officials took Wyrick into their custody on Saturday, May 31. He is due in court on Tuesday, June 3.
