BEAUMONT, Texas — Before 2024, Lamar University Athletics had never once hoisted the highly touted Southland Conference Commissioner’s Cup, now the Cardinals are making program history after taking it back to Beaumont for a second year in a row.

Lamar Athletics had a busy awards season to say the least. League officials announced Monday in Frisco that the program won the 2025 Southland Conference Commissioner’s Cup as well as the Men’s All-Sports Trophy.

This marks the second-straight year that LU athletics has received both trophies and the third consecutive that it has won either the Women’s All-Sports Trophy, Men’s All-Sports Trophy or Commissioner’s Cup. It’s also marks the first time in program history that LU has repeated as winners of both trophies.
