BOULDER, Colo. — Federal hate crime charges have been filed against the suspect taken into custody after 12 people were injured in an attack on the Pearl Street Mall Sunday afternoon .
Mohamed Soliman, 45, is also facing various charges of first-degree attempted murder, assault, crimes against an at-risk adult, and use of incendiary devices during a felony, according to jail records.
The attack happened around 1:30 p.m. in the area of the historic courthouse at 1235 Pearl St. Police said Sunday that eight victims aged 52 to 88 were taken to hospitals. At least one had serious injuries. Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty said Monday that investigators had identified four additional victims, bringing the total to 12.
