LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) — A Central Falls woman has been charged with driving under the influence after crashing her car in Lincoln Monday evening, according to police.

Police said Shirley Catalan Pineda, 22, was driving at a high rate of speed down Jenckes Hill Road when she losing control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree.

There were seven passengers inside Catalan Pineda's car at the time of the crash, including four juveniles. Police said three of those juveniles suffered minor injuries and were brought to the hospital for treatment.

Two other passengers got out of the vehicle and ran off after the crash, according to police. No one who was inside the car at the time of the crash would give up their identities and were uncooperative with the investigation.
