SHARP COUNTY, Ark. — The Sharp County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Hardy Police Chief Scott Rose on Monday after a coordinated, multi-agency investigation into child sexual abuse allegations.

At the end of March, Sheriff Shane Russell received information about allegations against Rose—initiating a preliminary investigation assigned to Lieutenant Cham Buchanan.

After interviewing individuals who might have had first-hand knowledge, investigators found that the information appeared unsubstantiated and based on rumor.

After interviewing the alleged victim and her family, information was revealed about incidents of sexual contact and other forms of abuse that had not been reported.
