KENT, Ohio (WOIO) - Kent State University announced it will be closing the campus’s LGBTQ+ Center, Women’s Center, and Student Multicultural Center later this month.

Dr. Eboni Pringle, the senior vice president for student life, wrote in a letter to students, faculty, and staff that this move is to comply with Ohio Senate Bill 1.

The new law, which takes effect on June 27, prohibits diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts at Ohio’s public universities.
