LORDSTOWN — Village council on Monday approved three payments to the Lordstown Local School District, which is their share of income taxes from three companies of more than $1 million.

The village approved three resolutions to pay the school district $56,184 in income tax from TJX HomeGoods, $14,727 in income tax from Matalco (U.S.) Inc. and $989,880 from Ultium Cells LLC.

Officials said the income tax sharing is part of an annual agreement between the village and school district on income tax generated from employees at the three companies.

In other business, Mayor Jackie Woodward reported that an assessment was done on the Kunkle property off state Route 45 that found no contamination or findings for remediation of the land at the site.
