GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A sentence has been handed down over a deadly DUI crash in Gainesville.

Gainesville Police officers say Margaret Walker was sentenced to eight years for DUI manslaughter on Monday.

Police say Walker hit and killed a cyclist with her car on South Main Street back in November of 2022.

GPD officers say Walker admitted to driving to multiple bars and drinking the day of the crash during an interview.

Walker said she knew she hit something but believed it was a traffic pole that was already down in the area.
