Two East Texas men have been released from the Gregg County Jail after their recent arrests on charges of online solicitation of a minor.

Marshall Knapik, 27, of Longview, and Dale Shelton, 34, of Tyler, were arrested May 28 separately by Kilgore police. Bond for each man was set at $25,000 on a charge of online solicitation of a minor — sexual conduct.

Their arrests were the result of an undercover investigation targeting people involved in online solicitation of a minor. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including Kilgore police, the Gregg County Sheriff's Office, the Collin County Sheriff's Office nd Texas Department of Public Safety.

"The operation was conducted online through various online apps and websites," reports about the arrests say.
