The Mets are reportedly calling up infielder Ronny Mauricio, according to Mike Rodriguez. Mauricio is joining the team in Los Angeles, and will presumably be activated for tonight’s game. A corresponding move has not yet been announced.
Mauricio has been scorching hot in Triple-A this season, hitting .515/.564/.18 with three home runs, eight runs batted in, and 10 runs scored in nine games. The Mets have been clear about wanting to give him some additional reps before calling him up, but his torrid pace has likely forced the club’s hand.
Mauricio missed all of last season after suffering an ACL tear while playing winter ball. He started 2025 on the IL as well as he finished up his rehab assignment for the injury. The infielder made his major league debut in 2023, slashing .248/.296/.
