Wake Forest Baseball Manager Accused of Using Anti-Gay Slur in the Direction of Opposing Batter

Wake Forest manager Tom Walter is being accused of using an anti-gay slur in the direction of an opposing batter during an NCAA baseball tournament game.
Walter’s team faced Tennessee in the Knoxville regional Monday. The winner would go on to take on Fayetteville Regional winner Arkansas in a best-of-three series in the Super Regional round.
In the fourth inning of Monday’s game, Wake Forest trailed Tennessee 6-2. As Tennessee infielder Andrew Fischer was stepping into the batter’s box to begin his at-bat, the ESPN broadcast cut to Walter standing in his team’s dugout. At that moment, Walter was seen saying something in Fischer’s
