Dallas-Fort Worth companies secured 21 spots on the latest Fortune 500, released June 2.
For the second year in a row, McKesson Corp. (NYSE: MCK) was the highest-ranked DFW company on the list at No. 9. The company recorded 2024 revenue of $309 billion, an 11.7% increase from the prior year. But its profit fell 15.7% last year, a common predicament as businesses dealt with trade uncertainty and other challenges. Only three of the top 10 companies reported an increase in profit last year.
Yet some DFW companies broke the mold. Tenet Healthcare Corp. (NYSE: THC) ranked No. 206 with 2024 revenue of and nearly $20.7 billion and profit grew 423.7% to $3.2 billion. The company said in an investor call that
