SHAQUILLE O'Neal has sent a request to those who want to call the NBA icon a certain name.

The basketball Hall of Famer and Inside the NBA star, 53, is worth over $500 million and counting.

Since retiring in 2011, O'Neal has been the face of numerous business ventures while also being a TV star, most notably for being on TNT's basketball coverage, and having a presence in Hollywood .

The 7-foot-1 Los Angeles Lakers legend has a stellar NBA resume and broadcaster career, but he doesn't want to be associated with being a celebrity .

"I don't want to be in that category," Shaq said in a past interview with the New York Pos t. "Celebrities are crazy, they really are.

"Don't call me that anymore.

"These people are out of their freaking mind with how they treat people
