Police in Meridian are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at a gas station on the city’s north side.

According to Acting Captain Dareall Thompson of the Meridian Police Department, a male suspect entered the business in the 5600 block of North Hills Street around 8:30 p.m. and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was armed with a handgun and was dressed in all black clothing with a mask. Thompson said this was the only description provided by the clerk at the scene. No injuries were reported.

The MPD’s Criminal Investigation Division is reviewing surveillance footage and leading the investigation. The case remains open and active.
