EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office officials say a man was arrested on multiple charges, including burglary.

According to an affidavit, authorities were dispatched to the 1100 block of Corregidor Circle in reference to a residential burglary.

Officials say the caller told dispatch that her child’s father, later identified as Jyeon Chambers, had broken into her house and was intoxicated.

The caller told deputies Chambers had locked her out of her house with their one-year-old daughter asleep inside.

When authorities arrived on scene, they say they could see Chambers hold the child, walking behind the properties.

Deputies were eventually able to take the child away from Chambers and place him into custody.

They say Chambers appeared to be heavily intoxicated.
