DOTHAN, Ala. — The City of Dothan recognized the essential role of emergency medical services (EMS) in providing lifesaving care 24/7 at a recent commission meeting where they highlighted the importance of access to quality emergency care, the expanding role of EMS in healthcare, and the dedication of EMS professionals through extensive training and gave awards for John T. Ingram EMT of the Year to Firefighter Levi Tharp and Paramedic of the Year to Firefighter James Burnham.
“I would not have gotten this award without the help of my awesome crew and the many mentors I have had in the DFD,” said James Burnham. “Being a paramedic allows me to help those in need, make an impact in their lives, and show them the love Christ showed me.”
