LEWISTON, Maine — A Lewiston man is facing serious charges after police executed a search warrant at his home on Elm Street as part of an investigation into the dissemination of sexually explicit material involving children.

On June 2, the Lewiston Police Department, acting on information from a federal tip line, searched a residence on Elm Street in connection with a cybercrime investigation, the department said in a social media post.

Authorities say the probe began when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children submitted a CyberTip to the Maine Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The case was later referred to Lewiston police.
