A man and woman, both in their forties were injured on May 29 after they struck by a semi-truck on HWY 254.

Around 6:19pm on May 29, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, Butler County EMS, Butler County Heavy Rescue and the Towanda Fire Department were dispatched to the area of HWY 254 and SW River Valley Rd intersection on a report of a two-car accident outside of Towanda. Upon arrival, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office located a passenger car in the center median east of SW River Valley Rd and a semi-truck with two trailers parked on the side of the road.

According to the Sheriff’s report, the driver of the passenger car, a 41-year-old man, was headed northbound on River Valley Rd when they failed to stop at the stop sign before proceeding to cross HWY 254. A semi
