WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said it was investigating after someone tore down Pride decorations in Dupont Circle Tuesday.
Someone shared video with DCNewsNow.com, showing a man ripping the Pride-colored wrap from a pole at the intersection of Connecticut Avenue and Q Street NW.
In sharing the video, he said the man had taken down four or five of the decorations. When he asked him to stop, the man seemed annoyed and took down the wrap seen in the video.
Historic Dupont Circle Main Streets bought the cloth wraps and placed them in the area as the District celebrates Pride Month and welcomes people for WorldPride. The nonprofit group celebrates the neighborhood, "promoting the museums, galleries, and businesses that enrich it with their presence."
