A tip to Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers ultimately led to the arrest of the suspect in the shooting of a Lee's Summit, Missouri, police officer, according to a Tuesday morning news release.

Tolbert, 27, was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning at a hotel in Ellis, Kansas.
According to a news release from the Ellis, Kansas, Police Department, that arrest started with a tip sent in to Crime Stoppers.
Police said officers got a tip around 2:04 a.m. from Crime Stoppers that Tolbert was staying at a Days Inn Hotel on Washington Street in Ellis.
