CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As the federal fraud case against indicted Charlotte City Council member Tiawana Brown gets underway, new court documents reveal that one of her daughters, who is also indicted, requested the court's permission to continue with a trip to Jamaica.
WCNC Charlotte reviewed court documents that showed Tijema Brown asked the judge on May 27 to allow her to travel to Montego Bay from June 7 through June 11. The request noted the trip was planned and paid for before she knew about the court case and indictment .
