If you’ve ever opened a link sent innocently by an acquaintance and ended up on the song’s music video, which has over 1.65 billion views on YouTube, you’re familiar.
“Rickrolling” had another wave of popularity in the early 2020s. Even Astley himself has been “Rickrolled” multiple times.
Less than 1,000 songs have over 1 billion streams on Spotify, putting this song — hit or prank — in rarefied company.
