SALT LAKE CITY — A family is reeling from shock and heartbreak after their loved one, 67-year-old Scott Mair, was killed in a hit-and-run crash late Sunday night .

The collision occurred just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of 400 East and 2100 South while Mair was riding his motorcycle. The driver who struck him fled the scene, leaving his family desperate for answers.

“He was such a happy guy. He was always happy,” said his grandson, Thaddeus Mair, struggling to comprehend the loss.

His daughter, Rachelle MacArthur, echoed the sentiment, remembering her father as someone who loved life and would give a stranger the shirt off his back.

Salt Lake City police are now asking for the community’s help .
