PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. — The search continues after an Indiana man went missing off the coast of South Carolina more than two weeks ago.
According to the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department, Kerry Van Arsdel of Shelbyville, Indiana, left a marina on the Pawleys Islands on May 19 in a 41-foot sailboat. A few days later, on May 22, the sailboat was found near Butler Island, miles from the docks.
The sailboat was unmanned with no sign of Van Arsdel.
Both the sheriff's department and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources have conducted multiple searches — spanning weeks — for the missing Hoosier but, so far, no sign of Van Arsdel has been found.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts can contact the Georgetown County Sheriff's Department at (843) 546-5102.
