The Zoning Board of Appeal today gave what would be the first of a series of approvals needed by one of the two remaining strip clubs on the alley-like Lagrange Street in Chinatown to move to a prominent spot on Stuart Street - next to the once more fire-ravaged Jacob Wirth.
The board's vote was mainly an acknowledgement that nearly a million dollars worth of renovations being planned for 27-29 Stuart St. would not interfere with the flow of rainwater into the ground - a requirement for large projects in much of Boston Proper, where groundwater is essential to keeping the wooden pilings that support so many buildings from rotting.
