Michigan Wolverines cornerback Shamari Earls received high praise from defensive backs coach LaMar Morgan during spring practice, and he should have an opportunity to make a splash in his freshman campaign with the program.

Following the loss of several key contributors in the secondary, Earls could earn significant snaps early in his freshman season, and he might be able to carve out a consistent role behind starting cornerbacks Jyaire Hill and Zeke Berry .

Earls will likely go through growing pains like most freshmen do at times, but his potential is obvious. The former four-star prospect was previously committed to Georgia and South Carolina before flipping to the Wolverines in November.
