Indiana Fever forward DeWanna Bonner (25) prepares to pass the ball in the first half agains the Washington Mystics at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington D.C. on May 28, 2025.

The Indiana Fever are set to play their third game without Caitlin Clark when they face the Washington Mystics on Tuesday. Indiana is hoping to win its first game with the 2024 Rookie of the Year sidelined.

The Fever lost their first game without Clark – who is dealing with a left quad strain – 83-77 against the Mystics. Indiana followed up that loss with a 85-83 defeat at the hands of the previously winless Connecticut Sun.

Now, the Fever (2-4) will look to earn a measure of revenge against the Mystics (3-3). While Indiana will benefit from playing at home in Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Fever could be without more than just Clark at the guard position.

Both Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham left the Fever's loss to the Sun due to injury. They were the primary replacements for Clark, and it isn't clear exactly how Indiana will replace the trio of guards if none are available.

Either way, Indiana figures to rely heavily on Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and DeWanna Bonner to carry the scoring workload. They have combined to average 44 points per game thus far during Clark's two-game absence.

As for the Mystics, they will look to rely on the formula that helped them beat the Fever in their last meeting. Brittney Sykes got to the line often to post a team-leading 21 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Rookies Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen also scored in double figures and managed as they continue to enjoy quality rookie seasons.
