The two premier college football magazines ranked Penn State second in their national top 25 and named former Gov. Mifflin star Nick Singleton as a preseason first-team All-American.

Lindy’s Sports also selected Nittany Lions defensive tackle Zane Durant to the first team and running back Kaytron Allen and guard Vega Ioane to the second team.

Athlon Sports picked Singleton and Ioane to its All-America first team and Allen and defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton to its second team.

Singleton ranks 10th in career rushing with 2,912 yards, within range of all-time leader Evan Royster, who has 3,932.

He also has a chance to break two other school records that are owned by Saquon Barkley. Singleton has 41 touchdowns, 12 behind Barkley, and 4,673 all-purpose yards, 865 behind Barkley.
