GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - A boat with four people on board capsized near the Moses Pier in Gulfport Tuesday afternoon, according to the Coast Guard.
Gulfport Fire Chief Billy Kelley said two adults, a man and a woman, were on board at the time, along with a 17 and 19-year-old.
Kelley said when the group was leaving the Gulfport Harbor, they sped up, stood up on a wave, and rolled over.
Three people were rescued after clinging to the boat.
Officials said the fourth person was unconscious when they were pulled from the water. They were transported to the hospital via an ambulance.
Kelley said the center console boat was about 16 or 17 feet.
The Gulfport Fire Department, the Coast Guard, and the Department of Marine Resources all responded to the scene.
