On the eve of trial Monday, a 24-year-old man entered a plea for sexually assaulting a teen girl in the Cumberland County Sheetz where he worked .

By pleading no contest, Shippensburg resident Demarcus Johnson acknowledged the Cumberland County district attorney’s office had enough evidence to convict him without accepting guilt.

Court records show Johnson pleaded to one felony count of sexual assault. Six related offenses were dismissed, including rape by forcible compulsion. His attorney was not immediately available for comment.

Johnson was 22 in March 2023 when police accused him of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the bathroom of the Sheetz on the 300 block of East King Street in Shippensburg, where Johnson worked at the time. After Johnson was charged, a Sheetz spokespe
