Belhaven University has launched a new program to combat Mississippi's persistent elementary teacher shortage.
The new program, offered exclusively to Mississippi residents, is completely online and caters to those who want to train in elementary education without the constraints of a traditional on-campus program.
The Teacher Education Preparation Program Online, also called the TEPP Online, is designed for students who have already completed their general ed courses. The TEPP Online then offers flexible training including internships and working in the field with clinical educators, previously called supervising teachers.
In the end, students will be prepared to obtain K-6 teaching licenses in Mississippi.
