CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A judge sentenced a Summerville man who pleaded guilty to a gun charge in federal court.
Mark Lee Frasier, 33, was sentenced to 20 years on a charge of possession of a firearm and ammunition after a felony conviction, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office spokesperson Veronica Hill.
Prosecutors said Charleston Police approached Frasier, who had parked in front of an abandoned building, while they patrolled a “high-crime area” on Feb. 7, 2023. Officers saw what appeared to be a bag of cocaine in the vehicle and said that when Frasier noticed them, he took off in the car until he reached a dead-end street and ran, but police quickly caught him.
