RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A possible military explosive was found at a home in Wake County Tuesday afternoon, deputies said.

According to the Wake County Sheriff's Office, the possible unexploded military ordnance was located in the yard of a home in the 4600 block of Forestville Road near Raleigh.

Deputies said they responded with the Wake New Hope Fire Department at around 1:45 p.m.

The home has been evacuated. The Raleigh Police Bomb Squad will provide assistance, according to the sheriff's office.
