Jamaica Plain fire displaces eight, injures one firefighter

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 25 Round Hill St. in Jamaica Plain around 10:40 a.m. for what was quickly declared a two-alarm fire, with fire and smoke blowing out a second floor window as they arrived.

The department reports firefighters had to work around utility lines to get up to the roof to battle the blaze, but adds they were able to keep the flames from igniting a neighboring house.

Five adults and three children were displaced, the department says, adding one firefighter needed to be transported to a local hospital.

The cause is under investigation.
