TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa dog bar announced it will close its doors on Saturday.

The business's owners said the Florida Department of Health reversed a judge's ruling favorable for the local dog bar.

In 2023, a judge ruled that the health department had not evenly applied a rule to Pup’s Pub after previously permitting the bar to allow dogs inside.

On Tuesday, the dog bar's owners said the Florida Department of Health "changed their mind" and decided that operating an indoor/outdoor dog bar was suddenly prohibited.

"As this ruling is enforced, every dog bar in Florida operating under previously approved models now faces the same fate as Pups Pub," the owners said.
