LAS CRUCES — Las Cruces police say a Monday night shooting has left a local teen dead.

Officers responded at approximately 9 p.m. on June 2 to reports of gunfire near Solano Drive and Spruce Avenue, a busy intersection close to downtown. The name of the victim was not released Tuesday afternoon as an investigation into the incident continued and relatives were notified.
