WASHINGTON (NEXSTAR) - The highest-ranking Jewish lawmaker in America issued a stark warning about antisemitism after the attack on pro-Israeli demonstrators over the weekend.

Senator Chuck Schumer warned people are blaming Jews for the actions of the Israeli government and that could lead to further violence.

Investigators say Mohamed Soliman spent a year planning his attack using an improvised flamethrower and throwing Molotov cocktails at a pro-Israeli group over the weekend.

“He will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

Soliman faces attempted murder and hate crime charges in federal and state courts.

Police identified 12 people wounded between 52-88 years old, including a Holocaust survivor.
