SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Saturday, June 7, marks the return of the City of San Angelo's annual Youth Fishing Derby, meaning that Concho Valley kids can compete for prizes and bragging rights on the Concho River.

According to the City, the derby will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Celebration Bridge, the concrete bridge that spans the North Concho River behind the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts.

Participants will be accepted from age groups 1-6, 7-12 and 13-17.

Prizes in the form of trophies will be given to the top three anglers from each age group who reeled in the most fish. Trophies will also be given to the anglers who can reel in the top three largest fish overall.
