OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (WMC) - A bomb squad successfully disabled a possible explosive device outside a wholesale warehouse in Olive Branch on Tuesday.

According to a city spokesperson, a 911 call came in at 9:17 a.m. reporting a possible bomb at the loading dock outside Southern Wire Corporation, located near the Olive Branch Airport.

Olive Branch police and fire crews evacuated the area while the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI investigated the threat.

A robot was used to approach the suspicious device and disable it safely.

The business was cleared after a thorough search.

The city spokesperson says the scene is now clear but that the matter remains under investigation.
