LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - A new apartment complex is set to open in Lake City.

Tuesday, leaders held a groundbreaking for “Phase Two” of the Sweetwater Apartment Complex, an affordable housing unit.

The developer said the new apartment complex is the first of its kind to come to Lake City in 20 years.

The development on Northeast Davis Avenue will offer 48 affordable housing units, with rent ranging between $400 to $1,000, depending on household income and unit selection.
