(NEXSTAR) — It hasn't been uncommon for restaurants like Snack Bar, McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Subway to operate inside Walmart, tantalizing you as you entered the stores with the smell of their French fries and warm bread.

But these days, Walmart is turning to new, smaller chains to move into open spaces at the front of their stores. That includes a newly announced partnership with the iconic hot dog franchise Wienerschnitzel.

The California-based company announced last week that it will soon open restaurants in six Walmart locations later this year. Those stores are in Bakersfield; Tempe, Arizona; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Alamogordo, New Mexico; Reno, Nevada; and Puyallup, Washington.
