CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Interstate 485 was backed up for miles Tuesday afternoon after the inner lanes were closed after a car flipped in northeast Charlotte.

According to the N.C. Department of Transportation, the accident was reported at 5 p.m. near I-485 mile marker 30, at the exit with I-85. One person involved has non-life-threatening injuries, Medic officials say.

The highway was initially closed at Exit 30, but reopened as of 5:45 p.m. As of 5:40 p.m., the backups reaching I-77 (Exit 23).
