EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry has announced updates on several projects in the city, including that major sinkhole on Riverside Drive.

The sinkhole has definitely been top-of-mind for many in Evansville as that detour around Riverside drive has been in play for over three months now.

Tuesday, Mayor Terry addressed the issue explaining what EWSU officials have told 14 News, there’s no way to start work until the river level goes down.

As we’ve reported, the river must get below 23 feet in order for crews to get down there.

Mayor Terry said unfortunately, this week, the Ohio River will rise to 30 feet. However, the good news is that it’s also projected to drop by the end of this week.
