The parents of a 10-year-old boy with epilepsy who died after choking on food during lunchtime at school have sued the Chicago public school they say is responsible for the child’s tragic death .
Kody Townsend was a student at Clissold Elementary School in Chicago who had an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and a Seizure Action Plan due to his history of seizures and developmental delays. These plans included supervision during meals and a protocol and procedure for responding to seizures, according to the parents’ filing.
