COALITION CALLS FOR SCAQMD GOV. BOARD VICE CHAIR TO RECUSE HIMSELF FROM VOTING ON RULES 1111 AND 1121 AFTER HE PUBLICLY ANNOUNCED HIS VOTE LONG BEFORE HEARING ON THE RULE AMENDMENTS
Last week, the Cost of Living Council sent a letter to Vanessa Delgado, Chair of the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s Governing Board, calling on SCAQMD Vice Chair Michael Cacciotti to recuse himself from voting on Rules 1111 and 1121, two rules that would effectively ban gas water heaters and furnaces in existing and new dwellings at a cost of more than $7.7 billion to Southern California consumers, due to him publicly announcing his vote long before the upcoming hearing.
