LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

A shooting left a 14-year-old dead following a possible road rage incident in Las Cruces on Monday.

According to Las Cruces police, they were dispatched to a report of a shooting near Solano Drive and Spruce Avenue. When officers arrived, they found the teenager who had been shot at least once.

Police say the teenager, identified as 14-year-old Alejandro Roman, died at the scene. Its investigation led to identifying a white SUV as a suspect vehicle in the shooting.

Investigators say they believe the incident may have stemmed from a road rage incident. The exact circumstances in the shooting remain under investigation.
