HEBRON, Ky. —

A Delta Airlines flight from Chicago to Atlanta was redirected to Cincinnati due to a mechanical issue with the plane on Tuesday afternoon.

Delta flight 2417 departed Chicago-Midway Airport around 12:45 p.m. and was on its way to Atlanta before being diverted to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Advertisement

A Delta spokesperson said there was an indication of a mechanical issue with the wing slats that prompted the decision.

The plane had 129 passengers, two pilots and three flight attendants on board.

The flight landed without incident after an emergency was declared. All the passengers and crew members deplaned normally, the spokesperson said.
